Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled API Testing Engineer to design, develop, and execute test strategies for RESTful and SOAP APIs. The candidate will be responsible for validating functionality, performance, reliability, and security of APIs while ensuring seamless integration across applications and services.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain API test cases and test scripts.
- Validate REST and SOAP web services using tools such as Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, and similar platforms.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end API testing.
- Automate API testing using tools/frameworks such as Rest Assured, Karate, Newman, or similar.
- Verify request/response payloads, status codes, headers, authentication, and error handling.
- Analyze API logs and troubleshoot defects.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to understand requirements.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to quality assurance activities.




- Execute database validation using SQL queries.
- Track, document, and report defects using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Ensure test coverage and maintain test documentation.

Required Skills
- Strong understanding of API testing concepts and methodologies.
- Experience with REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON, XML, and HTTP protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of API automation frameworks such as Rest Assured, Karate, or Newman.
- Valuable understanding of authentication mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, JWT, Basic Auth).
- Experience with SQL and database validation.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills
- Performance testing experience using JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevO
