Role & responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with organizations such as Coal India Limited (CIL), coal mining companies, iron ore suppliers, OEMs, government departments, and other key stakeholders.
- Coordinate with mines, vendors, and procurement teams for seamless raw material availability.
- Manage railway logistics including rake planning, allotment and coordination.
- Liaise with railway authorities and logistics partners to ensure timely transportation and minimize supply disruptions.
- Conduct occasional visits to coal and iron ore mines to assess product quality, quantity availability, operational conditions, and market intelligence.
- Monitor market trends, government policies, mining regulations, and industry developments impacting raw material procurement.
- Prepare MIS reports related to logistics, vendor performance, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Work closely with production, commercial,



and supply chain teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
- Monitor port stock positions and raw material inventory reports to support procurement planning and ensure uninterrupted material availability.

Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy, Commerce, or a related discipline. MBA preferred.
- 8-15 years of experience in Liaisoning and logistics management.
- Robust network within Coal India, mining companies, OEMs, railways, and related government agencies.
- Sound understanding of coal and iron ore procurement processes, mining operations, and railway logistics.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel to mines, supplier locations and government offices.
