Role & responsibilities
- Lay optical fiber cable along road stretches aerial (pole-to-pole) and underground (trenching, duct laying, cable blowing/pulling)
- Install, mount and dress joint enclosures, junction boxes, FDMS/LIU and loop provisioning at designated points
- Carry out fusion splicing, pigtail termination and patch cord connections as per route design
- Test and certify links using OTDR, power meter and light source; record splice loss and end-to-end loss readings
- Provide connection end points to customers drop cable pulling, ONT/ONU installation, activation and handover
- Attend fiber cuts and breakdowns; carry out fault localization and restoration within committed timelines, including emergency and night callouts
- Conduct route surveys, cable route marking and coordinate in office with civil/contractor teams
- Maintain splice records, route documentation, material consumption and daily work reports
- Follow road-work safety norms, barricading and site restoration practices





Preferred candidate profile
- 13 years of hands-on experience in optical fiber laying ISP, FTTH, telecom infrastructure or fiber contracting background
- Working experience in fiber laying is mandatory (aerial, underground or both)
- Operation of fusion splicing machine and cleaver
- OTDR trace reading, power meter testing and fault distance identification
- Understanding of FTTH/GPON last-mile setup, ONT/ONU installation and customer premise wiring
- Two-wheeler with valid driving licence (essential)
- Physically fit, comfortable working outdoors, at heights and in shift/emergency conditions
- Kannada speaking preferred; Hindi/English working knowledge an advantag

Education

ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunication or Electrical preferred. 10th/12th pass candidates with strong relevant field experience will also be considered.
