Role Summary
The Factory Manager owns the shift floor when Manav's robots are deployed and Robot Pilots are operating them. This person is the single point of accountability for everything happening on the floor during their shift, manpower, output, safety, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full charge of the shift: manpower deployment, attendance, and floor discipline, these shifts will be 10 hour shifts, rotational morning or night.
- Build and manage shift schedules and rosters for operators, pilots, and support staff
- Plan daily production targets in coordination with client plant leadership and Manav Ops
- Monitor robot uptime and pilot performance during the shift, flag issues immediately
- Handle shift-level escalations (manpower shortage, breakdowns, quality issues)
- Prepare and submit shift reports to Manav Ops Head (output, downtime, incidents, manpower)
- Coordinate handover between shifts to ensure continuity
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance on the floor
- Liaise with client-side supervisors/plant staff for day-to-day floor operations
Qualifications
- 2-3+ years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role (shift management, production planning, and floor operations)
- Comfortable working rotational shifts including night shifts
- Robust ownership mindset, able to make floor-level calls without constant escalation
