About the position





The Pipe Stress Engineer is part of the Reliability and Integrity Engineering team within Chevron’s ENGINE and is responsible for providing expertise in piping design, repair, alteration, code interpretation, and post-construction repair across Chevron assets. Position will provide services for active production facilities as well as new capital projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform piping flexibility and stress analysis for pipelines and piping systems using CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, and finite element analysis (FEA) tools (ex: PRG FEA).
- Verify stresses, strains, deflections, and nozzle loads are within allowable code limits.
- Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles, fatigue, buckling, creep and general mechanics of materials to evaluate the integrity and remaining life of piping and mechanical components.
- Lead or support the design and specification of piping systems, including process, utility, and relief systems.
