Job Description Maintenance Manager (API Manufacturing Plant)

Position: Maintenance Manager
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Industry: Pharmaceutical API Manufacturing
Location: Plant Location-Turbhe MIDC
Reporting To: Head Engineering / Plant Head
Experience: 10-15 years, preferably in API / Pharmaceutical / Chemical manufacturing
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical

Key Responsibilities :

A. Plant & Equipment Maintenance : Manage maintenance of reactors, centrifuges, dryers, micronizer, blenders, pumps, compressors, vacuum systems and other API manufacturing equipment.

B. Utilities Maintenance
- Oversee maintenance of utility systems such as:
- Chillers
- Cooling towers
- Air compressors
- Boilers / thermic fluid systems
- HVAC systems
- DG sets
- Vacuum systems
- ETP/STP-related equipment
- Water systems
- Monitor utility availability and reliability.

C. Maintenance Planning
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance plans.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules for critical equipment.




- Maintain equipment history cards and maintenance records.
- Plan shutdown maintenance and annual plant maintenance activities.
- Ensure adequate availability of critical spare parts.

D. Breakdown & Troubleshooting
- Lead emergency breakdown response.
- Identify technical problems and implement corrective actions.
- Track MTBF and MTTR of critical equipment.

E. Project & Installation Activities
- Lead installation, commissioning and qualification support for current equipment.
- Review technical specifications and vendor proposals.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors.
- Ensure engineering projects are completed within approved timelines and budgets.
- Support equipment modification and capacity expansion projects.

F. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with GMP, cGMP, safety and environmental requirements.
- Maintain maintenance SOPs, preventive maintenance records, logbooks and equipment history.
