Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented US Tax Researcher to join our team supporting US taxation processes. The ideal candidate will have experience researching federal, state, and local tax regulations, rates, and jurisdictional requirements to ensure accurate tax compliance and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and validate US federal, state, and local tax rates, rules, and jurisdictions
- Track and update changes in tax laws, rates, and compliance requirements
- Support tax return preparation teams with accurate jurisdictional and rate data
- Analyze taxability of products/services across multiple states
- Maintain and update internal tax research databases/tools
- Coordinate with compliance/QC teams to resolve discrepancies
- Ensure research is documented and audit-ready
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in US Tax Research / US Taxation process (mandatory)
- Understanding of US tax structure (Federal, State, Local/County)
- Familiarity with sales & use tax, payroll tax,
or income tax (based on specific process)
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Good written English communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel; exposure to tax research tools (Avalara, Vertex, CCH, Checkpoint) is a plus
- Ability to work night shifts (US hours)
Work Requirements
- Work from office in Bangalore.
- Must arrange own transportation.
- US shift timings; must be available to work on US holidays (no Indian public holidays).
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field (B.Com/BBA/M.Com preferred)
Mandatory / Required Skillset:
- US Tax Research experience (Federal/State/Local)
- Solid understanding of tax jurisdictions and rate structures
- Analytical mindset with high accuracy
- Good written English communication
- MS Excel proficiency
- Willingness to work US night shifts
