NPD Engineer Gear Design

Position: AM/JM NPD Engineer (Gear Design)

Department: Research & Development (R&D;) / Recent Product Development

Location: AMT Ujjain Plant

Experience: 3+ Years (Preference will be given to candidates with experience in OEMs or automotive transmission/gear manufacturing companies.)

Qualification: Diploma / B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/ Electrical)

Job Summary

The NPD Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of gears and transmission components for new products. The role involves concept design, engineering calculations, CAD modelling, prototype development, validation, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop spur, helical, bevel, and planetary gears as per customer and application requirements.
- Prepare detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using CAD software (Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX).
- Perform gear design calculations,



strength analysis, tolerance stack-up, and GD&T.;
- Develop new products from concept through prototype, testing, validation, and production release.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and production teams during product development.
- Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Reviews.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards such as AGMA, DIN, and ISO.
- Support prototype development, testing, and root cause analysis for design-related issues.
- Drive cost optimization, value engineering, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Prepare engineering documentation, BOMs, technical specifications, and design reports.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of gear design principles and transmission systems.
- Hands-on experience with CAD software such as Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX.
