Job Summary

The Transport Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring the efficient management of vehicles, drivers, routes, maintenance activities, and compliance with safety regulations. The role requires solid leadership, fleet management expertise, and the ability to ensure smooth and cost-effective transport operations.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Management
- Manage and monitor the organization's fleet of vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained in optimal working condition through preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, servicing, repairs, and fitness certifications.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle registrations, insurance, permits, and compliance documents.

Operations Management
- Plan and optimize transportation routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.




- Monitor daily transportation activities and ensure timely service delivery.
- Coordinate with internal departments to meet transportation requirements.
- Handle transportation-related emergencies and resolve operational issues promptly.

Driver Management
- Supervise and manage drivers and transport staff.
- Conduct driver induction, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, road safety regulations, and driving standards.
- Manage driver schedules, attendance, and duty rosters.

Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all transport regulations, statutory requirements, and safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and vehicle breakdowns, and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a culture of safety and responsible driving.

Budget & Cost Control
- Monitor transportation expenses, including fuel, maintenance, and operational costs.
