Essential skills:

Expert Swift and deep UIKit fundamentals

SwiftUI experience and the appetite to write new work in it

Proven track record of shipping consumer-facing, high-performance, maintainable, efficient code and operating production iOS apps at scale - youve owned features through rollout, monitoring, and incident debugging

Experience in large, modular codebases, in product-focused iOS application development

Fluency in reactive patterns

A robust testing culture - unit, snapshot, and component/UI tests as part of everyday work. Experienced at keeping the tests healthy. Experience using the XCTest framework for unit and UI testing

Product-minded pragmatism: experiments, metrics, iteration

Proficiency in profiling and optimising iOS apps

Understanding of design patterns and Object-Oriented Programming

Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude Code

Ability to work cross-functionally with mobile engineers, backend, QA, product managers, and designers. Ability to document and communicate technical approaches clearly. Strong collaboration and communication skills





Comfortable working with monetisation and payment flows (credits, subscriptions, in-app purchases)

Solid computer science foundations: algorithms, data structures, concurrency, threading

Nice to have

Computer Science/Tech related degrees

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices (TeamCity or similar)

Swift 6 / strict-concurrency experience

Protobuf/gRPC or other schema-driven API tooling

Unidirectional/Redux-style architecture experience (TCA or similar)

Tuist, Bazel, or other modular build systems at scale

Experience shipping multiple app targets from one codebase

Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and feature flagging for gradual rollouts

Knowledge of socket-based networking and binary protocols

Familiarity with analytics, remote reporting, and performance metrics
