Data Engineer role for Taxonomy

The client Data Services is looking for a talented Data Engineer to work collaboratively on a geographically diverse agile team. This engineer will develop and enhance both existing and new data solutions Treasure Data (Python backend) tasks as defined in User Stories while also potentially helping phase in new approaches to the data landscape. This role will need to analyze stories, solve data challenges, and define creative solutions for business customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and understand data model diagrams
- Develop and maintain data feeds designed from source APIs
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze ETL tasks with little direction
- Ability to suggest alternative approaches and solutions to complex ETL/transformation/ data challenges
- Ability to design and maintain data architecture to meet business needs
- Able to document solutions being proposed as well as devise QA testing plans
- Collaborate with both engineering team members and business stakeholders to refine requirements
- Work independently while also collaborating on solutions
- Positive working knowledge of Scrum and Kanban
- Utilize Jira/Confluence for team communication and planning
- Perform QA tasks for other team members
- Assist with data analysis and reporting needs as required
Qualifications
- 5+ Years of experience in a similar data engineering role
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant qualification
- Languages: SQL, Python, Presto/Trino
- DB Experience: PostgreSQL, AWS Redshift
- Customer data platform Experience: Treasure data and creating workflows
- AWS Experience/Familiarity - S3, Redshift, Redshift Spectrum, Lambda, Glue, EC2
- Methodologies: Scrum/Kanban
- Management Tools: Jira, Confluence, Git/Bitbucket
Experience with the following a plus:
- BI Tools such as PowerBI
- Object Oriented Programing
