The role

You'll build the backend systems that carry client money, portfolios and market data services that have to be correct, fast and auditable. This is an early-stage team, so you'll own features end to end: design, build, ship, monitor. No handoffs, no ticket queue.

What you'll do
- Design and build backend services and APIs in Python and Go
- Model and optimise data layers for portfolio, transaction and market data
- Build event-driven pipelines for real-time feeds, reconciliation and reporting
- Integrate third-party systems — custodians, RTAs, exchanges, KYC and payment providers
- Own reliability: testing, observability, alerting and on-call for what you ship
- Write clean, reviewed, well-tested code and raise the bar in design discussions

What we're looking for
- 3–6 years building production backend systems
- Robust in Python or Go,



with genuine willingness to work across both
- Solid grounding in system design, data structures and distributed systems
- REST and gRPC API design; microservices in production
- PostgreSQL or MySQL with real query and schema optimisation experience
- Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar message queues; Redis for caching
- AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD
- Comfortable with ambiguity and early-stage ownership

Preferred
- Fintech, wealthtech, brokerage or capital markets backend experience
- Exposure to market data feeds, order management, portfolio accounting or reconciliation
- Experience with low-latency, high-throughput systems
- Understanding of data security and regulatory-grade audit trails
