Principal Architect – Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Architect to lead architectural design, planning, technical coordination, and project execution across residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate should combine strong design expertise with practical knowledge of construction, building regulations, approvals, and client management.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead architectural design from concept development to construction and final handover.

* Develop and review architectural plans, layouts, elevations, sections, working drawings, and detailed construction drawings.

* Ensure designs are functional, aesthetically strong, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable building regulations and development authority norms.

* Coordinate with structural, MEP, interior, landscape, fire, and other consultants.

* Review drawings and resolve technical and design issues during execution.

* Guide and mentor architects, junior architects, draftsmen, and design teams.

* Conduct design reviews and ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables.

* Coordinate with clients to understand requirements and translate them into practical design solutions.

* Support project teams in obtaining necessary building plan/map approvals and statutory clearances.

* Visit project sites periodically to monitor design implementation and resolve architectural issues.

* Review material selections, architectural details, and specifications to ensure alignment with the approved design.

* Work closely with the construction team to ensure that execution follows approved drawings and design intent.





* Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining timelines and quality standards.

* Stay updated with NBC, applicable IS Codes, local building bylaws, development authority regulations, fire and environmental requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

* B.Arch from a recognized institution; M.Arch will be an advantage.

* 8–15+ years of relevant architectural experience.

* Strong knowledge of residential, commercial, and/or mixed-use projects.

* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and MS Office; knowledge of BIM workflows is preferred.

* Strong understanding of construction detailing and building materials.

* Valuable knowledge of building codes, bylaws, FAR/FSI, setbacks, height regulations, parking, fire norms, and approval processes.

* Excellent design, documentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

* Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.

* Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

Preferred Experience

Experience in real estate development, turnkey construction, residential projects, commercial buildings, or architectural consultancy will be preferred.

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience and expertise.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
