Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Hull Erection Engineer to supervise and coordinate hull block erection, alignment, fit-up, welding and structural assembly activities. The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of shipbuilding processes, structural drawings, block erection and shipyard production activities. Similar current shipyard roles emphasize daily monitoring of hull fabrication/erection, drawing interpretation, subcontractor coordination, quality and EHS compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise hull block erection, assembly, alignment and fit-up activities.
- Review and interpret GA drawings, structural drawings, block drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Ensure blocks are positioned, aligned and erected as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor fit-up, welding, dimensional accuracy, alignment and fairing of hull structures.
- Coordinate with Structural Fitters, Fabricators, Welders, Riggers and Supervisors.
- Plan daily manpower, materials, tools, lifting equipment and work requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, Planning, Safety, Piping, Electrical and Outfitting teams.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and monitor their productivity and work quality.
- Identify technical issues during erection and implement suitable corrective actions.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and Class/Owner representatives for inspections and approvals.
- Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed within the planned schedule.
- Ensure compliance with shipbuilding standards, approved procedures and HSE requirements.




- Prepare daily progress reports and maintain relevant production records.
- Monitor rework, punch points and ensure timely rectification.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working practices at the erection site.

Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or related discipline.
- Candidates with strong relevant shipyard experience may also be considered.

Required Experience & Skills

- 3–8 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, hull fabrication or hull erection.
- Positive knowledge of block erection, hull assembly, structural fabrication and welding processes.
- Ability to read and understand shipbuilding and structural drawings.
- Experience in manpower and subcontractor coordination.
- Good knowledge of dimensional inspection and alignment procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of shipyard safety procedures and quality requirements.
- Experience with commercial, naval, offshore or other marine vessels will be an advantage.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with hands-on experience in hull block erection, shipyard production, structural fabrication and subcontractor management will be preferred. Official shipyard tender requirements similarly emphasize erection teams, approved block drawings, block consolidation, hull inspection and coordination with other trades.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
