ABOUT INVENTAA LED LIGHTS PRIVATE LIMITED

Inventaa is a Chennai-based LED lighting manufacturer founded in 2006, with 1000+ models across outdoor, indoor, solar and smart lighting, sold through dealers in every district of India. We are a fully integrated, Made-in-India manufacturer: our own injection moulding shop (nine all-servo machines, 150 T to 850 T), in-house SMT and PCB assembly, indigenous LED drivers and automatic SMD lines for solar products. ISO, ZED and BIS certified. Our plant is at Oragadam, Chennai.

THE ROLE

You will head the tool room at our Oragadam plant and own the complete life of every mould and die: quoting it from a sample or 3D model, building it in-house or getting it built outside, proving it out, and keeping it in production condition. You report to the Plant Head and work daily with New Product Development, Production and Quality.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Estimate and cost. From a sample part or CAD model, work out the tool BOM (steel, standard parts, hot runner, cooling, texture), machining hours per operation, lead time and total cost. Produce a make-or-buy recommendation with a quotation-grade estimate.
- Design and build. Lead mould design and DFM review for injection moulds (PP, PC, ABS) and pressure die casting dies (aluminium). Plan and supervise CNC milling, EDM, wire-cut, grinding, fitting, polishing and texturing. Run T0/T1 trials, sign off tools for production.
- Manage outsourced tooling. Prepare RFQs, evaluate local and Chinese tool shops, review their DFM, track progress, inspect at trial and negotiate cost and delivery.
- Deliver the monthly mould target. Plan the tool room schedule so that the agreed number of new moulds and dies is delivered every month. This target carries a performance incentive.
- Maintain moulds,



dies and machines. Run preventive maintenance and history cards for every tool and every tool room machine; drive repair turnaround down; keep spares and consumables under control.
- Lead the team. Manage tool makers, machinists and trainees: shift planning, skill matrix, training, discipline, safety and 5S.
- Fix production problems. First point of call for moulding and casting defects (flash, short shot, sink, warpage, cold shut, porosity); resolve at the tool, not the process, where the tool is the cause.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering or Tool & Die Making. NTTF, CIPET, GTTC or CTTC background preferred.
- 10-15 years in a die and mould tool room, at least 3 years leading it.
- Proven record of quoting tools from a sample or model and hitting the estimate.
- Hands-on with injection mould design and build; working knowledge of pressure die casting dies.
- CAD/CAM proficiency (SolidWorks, NX, Creo or similar), GD&T;, mould flow basics.
- Knows tool steels (P20, H13, 2316, 1.2344), heat treatment, texturing and coatings.
- Has managed a team of 10 or more and a mould maintenance programme.
- Can read a costing sheet and defend it to the Founder.

WHAT WE OFFER
