1. Position Summary
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and quality management of the Viksit Gaon Pilot Programme. The role will ensure effective integration of education, sports, adolescent development, women’s leadership, community participation, environmental sustainability and government convergence interventions.
The Project Coordinator will lead and support the field team, strengthen relationships with schools and community stakeholders, monitor programme progress and outcomes, ensure timely reporting and documentation, and contribute to long-term community ownership and sustainability.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day implementation of the Viksit Gaon Pilot Programme across assigned villages and schools.
- Develop monthly, quarterly and annual implementation plans aligned with programme objectives and targets.
- Coordinate and supervise School Facilitators, Education Facilitators, Sports Facilitators and Community Facilitators.
- Allocate responsibilities, review field plans and ensure timely completion of activities.
- Conduct regular school and community field visits to monitor programme quality, coverage, participation and outcomes.
- Coordinate with Headmasters, teachers, Panchayats, government departments, parents, women, youth, CBOs, community leaders, industries and other stakeholders.
- Ensure effective implementation of remedial education, academic reinforcement, board examination readiness and adolescent development activities.
- Monitor life skills, digital literacy, financial literacy, career awareness, employability and entrepreneurship interventions.
- Guide sports interventions including participation, talent identification, player tracking, sports infrastructure, tournaments and sports excellence pathways.
- Promote sports, health, fitness, leadership, teamwork, discipline and inclusion, particularly among girls.
- Strengthen women’s leadership, youth participation, Child Cabinets, Eco Clubs and community-led development initiatives.
- Facilitate government convergence and link communities with relevant schemes, services and opportunities.
- Promote community ownership, local resource mobilisation and sustainability of programme activities.
- Identify implementation gaps and take corrective actions in consultation with the reporting manager.
- Ensure accurate and timely CRM/MIS updates, attendance records, activity reports, beneficiary data, photographs and programme evidence.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and other programme reports as required.
- Conduct regular team review meetings and support staff orientation, training and capacity building.
- Document success stories, case studies, innovations, challenges and lessons learned.
- Support programme assessments, audits, monitoring visits and donor/partner reviews.
- Ensure adherence to organisational policies, child safeguarding, POSH, health and safety, data protection and other applicable guidelines.
3. Programme-Specific Coordination Responsibilities
A. Education & Learning
- Monitor remedial learning and academic reinforcement activities.
- Ensure identification and tracking of children with learning gaps.
- Monitor learning progress and support improvement towards grade-level competencies.
- Strengthen board examination readiness, study habits and transition planning for adolescents.
- Coordinate with teachers and parents to improve attendance, engagement and learning continuity.
B. Adolescent Development
- Ensure effective delivery of life skills and employability competencies.
- Promote digital and financial literacy.
- Facilitate career awareness and higher education/skilling pathways.
- Encourage entrepreneurial thinking and future-ready competencies among adolescents.
C. Sports, Health & Well-being
- Monitor structured sports sessions and participation across schools.
- Ensure increased participation of girls and other underrepresented children.
- Support identification and nurturing of potential sporting talent.
- Track player progression and sports exposure opportunities.
- Coordinate tournaments, competitions and sports excellence pathways.
- Promote health, fitness, leadership, teamwork, discipline and inclusion through sports.
D. Women’s Leadership & Community Participation
- Mobilise women, youth, parents, CBOs, community leaders and other stakeholders.
- Strengthen women’s leadership and participation in village development.
- Promote youth participation and community decision-making.
- Support Child Cabinets, community meetings, PRA processes and social action initiatives.
- Encourage community ownership and local resource mobilisation.
E. Green & Sustainable Communities
- Support formation and strengthening of Eco Clubs.
- Promote green skills and environmental awareness.
- Facilitate responsible waste management initiatives.
- Encourage Child Cabinets and community groups to undertake environmental actions.
- Build partnerships for sustainable village-level environmental practices.
F. Government Convergence & Partnerships
- Establish and maintain effective coordination with Panchayats and government departments.
- Facilitate access to relevant government schemes, services and opportunities.
- Strengthen partnerships with schools, industries, CBOs and community institutions.
- Identify opportunities for resource convergence and programme sustainability.
4. Team Management & Supervision
- Set clear targets and expectations for all field team members.
- Review staff work plans and field schedules regularly.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and problem-solving support.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Monitor staff attendance, field coverage and activity implementation.
- Identify staff capacity-building requirements.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism and a child-centred approach.
5. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Track programme indicators, targets, outputs and outcomes.
- Maintain updated programme trackers, dashboards and CRM/MIS records.
- Validate field-level data and ensure data quality.
- Ensure timely submission of reports and programme documentation.
- Maintain school-wise and community-wise records.
- Document success stories, case studies, photographs and evidence.
- Prepare presentations and review materials for management and programme partners.
- Support internal and external monitoring, audits and programme reviews.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain strong relationships with schools, Panchayats, government officials and community institutions.
- Conduct and participate in stakeholder meetings.
- Represent the programme in meetings and coordination forums when required.
- Build partnerships to improve access to education, sports, skilling, livelihoods, schemes and community development opportunities.
- Resolve field-level challenges through timely coordination and escalation.
7. Qualification & Experience
- Postgraduate qualification in Social Work (MSW) or a relevant social development discipline.
- Relevant experience in NGO/social development programmes.
- Experience in education, community development, youth development, sports or integrated rural development will be preferred.
- Experience in field-team coordination and programme implementation.
- Experience in stakeholder management, community mobilisation and government coordination.
- Good knowledge of programme monitoring, reporting and documentation.
- Robust computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, email and digital reporting systems.
- Experience working with schools, Panchayats, government departments and community institutions will be an added advantage.

The Project Coordinator is expected to ensure that the Viksit Gaon Pilot Programme operates as an integrated village-development initiative rather than as a set of standalone activities.

11. Overall, Role Expectation
The Project Coordinator will serve as the key link between the programme management team, field team, schools, government institutions and communities. The position requires strong field leadership, planning, coordination, communication, monitoring and problem-solving skills to ensure that the Viksit Gaon Pilot achieves its intended outcomes and creates sustainable community-level impact.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹34,000.00 per month
