Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Solar Design Engineer – Civil to join our renewable energy team in Jaipur. The candidate will be responsible for the civil design and engineering of utility-scale solar PV projects, including site development, grading, roads, drainage, foundations, structural design, and construction support.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, solar PV plant design, structural analysis, and relevant engineering software.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review civil layouts for utility-scale solar PV projects.
- Prepare grading plans, internal road layouts, drainage systems, fencing layouts, and overall site development plans.
- Design and optimize foundations for module mounting structures, inverters, transformers, equipment, and other plant civil structures.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, GA drawings, sections, and construction drawings.
- Perform structural analysis and design of solar plant structures and foundations.
- Review topographical surveys, site survey data, and geotechnical/soil investigation reports for design optimization.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, project, and construction teams to ensure integrated project design.
- Prepare and support BOQ, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
- Review and provide technical comments on vendor and contractor drawings.
- Provide engineering support during project execution and assist in resolving site-related design issues.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable IS Codes, project specifications, and industry standards.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficient utilization of land and construction materials.
- Support the project team throughout the design, construction, and commissioning stages as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 0–3 Years of relevant experience in civil design, infrastructure, solar PV, or renewable energy projects.
- Good understanding of utility-scale solar PV plant civil design and construction.
- Strong knowledge of:
- RCC foundations
- Structural steel
- Grading and site development
- Internal roads
- Drainage systems
- Fencing
- Equipment foundations
- Solar module mounting structure foundations
- Ability to interpret topographical surveys and geotechnical/soil investigation reports.
- Positive knowledge of applicable IS Codes and engineering standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and technical documentation skills.
Software Knowledge
- AutoCAD – 2D engineering drawings, layouts, and construction drawings
- STAAD.Pro – Structural analysis and design
- SketchUp – 3D modelling and visualization
