Job Purpose
The Digital Literacy Trainer will be responsible for providing basic and practical digital skills training to students/beneficiaries, helping them become confident in using computers, smartphones, internet services, and digital applications for education, employment, and day-to-day activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct digital literacy and basic computer training sessions.
- Teach basic computer operations, including keyboard, mouse, file management, and printing.
- Train students in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and basic email usage.
- Provide training on internet browsing, online forms, search engines, and safe internet practices.
- Teach basic smartphone and digital application usage.
- Create simple training materials, worksheets, and practical exercises.
- Support students in creating and using email accounts and other digital platforms.
- Introduce students to online job portals and basic job-search techniques.
- Provide guidance on creating and maintaining digital documents and resumes.
- Teach basic digital safety, password protection, privacy, and awareness of online fraud/scams.
- Adapt teaching methods according to the learning abilities and needs of students with disabilities.
- Monitor attendance, participation, and individual student progress.
- Conduct practical assessments to evaluate students' digital skills.
- Maintain training records, attendance sheets, progress reports, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with the Program Manager, Placement Coordinator, and other faculty members.
- Support students in developing workplace-ready digital skills.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, workshops, and project activities as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate/Diploma in Computer Applications, IT, Education, or a related field.
- Good knowledge of basic computer applications.
- Proficiency in MS Office, internet, email, and basic digital tools.
- Valuable communication and teaching skills.
- Patience and ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and practical manner.
- Basic knowledge of digital accessibility and inclusive teaching methods is an advantage.
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in computer training, digital literacy, education, or skill development preferred.
- Freshers with good computer knowledge and communication skills may also be considered.
