Role Summary

This role sits within the firm’s Risk & Governance function and supports the design, implementation, and monitoring of risk management practices. The candidate will work on a mix of operational and technical initiatives, including automation of risk processes, ethics and independence compliance, client onboarding and conflict checks, internal quality reviews, and contractual risk assessments.

The role requires a strong understanding of professional services risk, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

- Risk Process Automation & Innovation

- - Support the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions for risk management processes (e.g., independence tracking, conflict checks, onboarding workflows).
- Work with internal stakeholders and technology teams to streamline and digitize existing manual processes.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency, standardization, and control enhancement across risk functions.

- Ethics & Independence Compliance

- - Assist in monitoring compliance with independence policies across the firm and network entities.
- Review personal independence declarations, financial interests, and related disclosures.
- Support resolution of independence breaches, including documentation, escalation, and remediation tracking.
- Contribute to independence-related training materials, FAQs, and awareness initiatives.

- Client Onboarding & Conflict Checks

- - Perform client acceptance and continuance procedures, including risk assessments and background checks.
- Conduct conflict checks across the network, including analysis of potential independence and business conflicts.




- Coordinate with engagement teams and member firms to resolve identified conflicts.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trail for onboarding decisions.

- Policies, Procedures & Risk Framework

- - Assist in drafting, updating, and maintaining risk management policies and procedures in line with applicable standards (e.g., ISQM 1, ISA 220, PCAOB requirements).
- Support implementation of firm-wide risk frameworks and monitoring mechanisms.
- Ensure consistency and alignment of policies across jurisdictions.

- Quality Management Reviews

- - Participate in internal inspections/reviews of network member firms’ compliance with network’s quality management standards.
- Perform testing of controls, documentation reviews, and identification of findings.
- Assist in drafting inspection reports, including observations, risk ratings, and recommendations.
- Track remediation actions and follow up on implementation.

- Contractual Risk Review

- - Review engagement letters, vendor agreements, NDAs, and other contracts from a risk perspective.
- Identify and highlight key risk areas, including liability clauses, data protection, confidentiality, and regulatory implications.
- Work with legal and engagement teams to suggest risk-mitigating language.

- Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

- - Liaise with cross-functional teams (audit, tax, advisory, IT) and network firms across jurisdictions.




- Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations for senior management on risk-related matters.
- Support regulatory inspections and internal/external audit requirements as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s, or master’s degree in law, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or related fields.
- Candidates pursuing or holding professional qualifications such as ACCA, CS, LLB, MBA, or similar are preferred, but not mandatory.
- 2–3 years of experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, client onboarding, contract review, or similar functions
- Candidates from non-traditional backgrounds with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and exposure to governance or risk-related activities are encouraged to apply
- Prior audit experience is not mandatory; however, familiarity with risk and compliance frameworks will be an advantage

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong understanding of risk management in a professional services setting
- Familiarity with independence, ethics, and conflict check processes
- Working knowledge of quality management standards (ISQM 1, ISA 220, PCAOB QC standards preferred)
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort with technology/automation tools (e.g., workflow tools, data tools)
