Position: Sample Tailor

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Sample Tailor to join our Sampling & Product Development team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality samples and prototypes of home furnishing products based on approved designs, measurements, specifications, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Stitch and prepare samples, prototypes, and pre-production samples as per approved specifications.
- Interpret product sketches, measurements, patterns, technical specifications, and sample instructions.
- Work on home furnishing products such as:
- Curtains and drapes
- Cushion covers
- Pillow covers
- Table linen
- Bed linen
- Upholstery/soft furnishing products
- Other customized décor products
- Select appropriate stitching techniques, seams, threads, accessories, and finishing methods.
- Ensure proper measurements, shape, construction, and finishing of samples.
- Work closely with Design, Merchandising, Product Development, and Quality teams.
- Modify samples based on feedback from designers, merchandisers, customers, and management.
- Develop samples within agreed timelines and maintain sample schedules.
- Identify fabric, construction, stitching, or finishing issues during sample development.
- Suggest practical improvements to product construction, appearance, and manufacturability.
- Ensure consistency between approved samples and subsequent production requirements.
- Maintain proper handling and identification of sample fabrics, trims, accessories, and approved samples.
- Support the team during customer sample presentations and sample approvals.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and discipline in the sampling area.
- Follow company quality standards,



work instructions, and safety procedures.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of industrial sewing machines and stitching techniques.
- Strong understanding of garment/home textile construction.
- Ability to read and understand measurements and product specifications.
- Good knowledge of fabrics, trims, threads, seams, hems, piping, zippers, and other accessories.
- Ability to work with different types of fabrics and materials.
- Good attention to detail and finishing quality.
- Ability to identify and rectify stitching and construction defects.
- Ability to work within tight sampling deadlines.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn recent products and construction techniques.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in home textiles, soft furnishings, curtains, cushion covers, bed linen, upholstery, or export-oriented textile manufacturing will be preferred.

Experience in sample development for international customers/export buyers will be an added advantage.

Educational Qualification

ITI / Diploma / relevant technical qualification in Tailoring, Garments, Textile, or equivalent practical experience preferred.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be technically skilled, detail-oriented, creative, quality-conscious, and capable of converting a design or specification into a well-finished physical sample. The person should be comfortable working in a fast-paced product development environment and responding quickly to sample modifications.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
