Memologs is the marketing decision platform — the only one with a memory. We work with marketing teams spending $100K+ per month on media across fintech, D2C, retail, consumer technology and health. Advertising platforms overcount conversions by approximately 3×, creative fatigue is typically identified 11–18 days late, media mix reports arrive around 98 days after the decisions they were intended to inform, and institutional knowledge is lost when team members leave. Memologs addresses all four.
We are hiring a Data Analyst to own measurement across the platform.
Responsibilities
- Design experiments prior to launch, including test and control group selection, duration, budget, and statistical power analysis to confirm the design can detect a meaningful effect.
- Analyse results to separate campaign-driven change from underlying trend, using control groups or modelled counterfactuals.
- Report results with quantified uncertainty, including confidence intervals rather than point estimates.
- Own data quality upstream of analysis, including reconciling multiple sources, handling late-arriving and restated data, and identifying duplication and granularity mismatches before they affect conclusions.
- Define and govern metric definitions so that each metric is calculated consistently across the product and all customer reporting.
- Investigate cases where different methods produce conflicting results, and identify the underlying assumption violations.
- Prepare and present customer-facing readouts covering findings, level of confidence and recommended actions.
- Work in SQL and Python within the shared codebase, with analysis subject to code review.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of professional experience in an analytical role where your findings informed business decisions.
- Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and aggregation, with rigorous attention to data granularity.
- Proficiency in Python with pandas and numpy, sufficient to construct, clean and validate datasets independently.
- Sound statistical reasoning, including the ability to articulate the assumptions underlying an estimate, the conditions that would invalidate it, and the correct interpretation of confidence intervals.
- A rigorous approach to validating results, including reviewing diagnostics before reporting findings and applying appropriate scepticism to unexpectedly strong results.
- Experience working with incomplete, inconsistent or restated source data.
- Clear written communication for non-technical audiences, with the ability to convey uncertainty accurately.
- Qualified judgement to report findings accurately, including where the results do not support the preferred conclusion.
Preferred
- Experience running A/B tests, geo experiments, or studies where randomisation was imperfect or clustered.
- Familiarity with difference-in-differences, control group construction, time-series forecasting or Bayesian methods.
- Marketing measurement context, including incrementality testing, media mix modelling and the limitations of attribution.
- Adjacent quantitative backgrounds are welcome, including econometrics, biostatistics or epidemiology, quantitative social science, and pricing, risk or credit analytics.
