Key Responsibilities
Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced technical leader to help build and grow the Avionics – Core Services & Libraries team. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for the design and development of middleware, core software libraries, and platform-level software applications. The role will also involve guiding engineering teams in successfully delivering new product development programs.

The ideal candidate needs to be a strong communicator, an effective influencer, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced Agile environment. They should possess strong technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, program teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities & Duties:

- Lead software project teams by providing clear purpose, technical direction, and motivation to achieve project objectives.
- Provide technical leadership for the development of middleware, core software libraries, and platform software applications for Aerospace products.
- Lead key project activities, including requirements definition, software architecture and design, development, integration, verification, and testing.
- Guide the team in developing high-quality software that complies with applicable aerospace standards, processes, and certification requirements.
- Drive the technical execution of projects, including planning, risk identification, issue resolution, and delivery against program commitments.




- Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements, communicate project status, and manage technical changes.
- Present technical solutions, project updates, risks, and recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, program, systems, hardware, and certification teams to deliver complex and integrated solutions.
- Mentor engineers, conduct technical reviews, and promote engineering excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

Key Competencies & Skillsets:

- Experience in designing and implementing middleware, core software libraries, or platform-level software applications from initial planning through certification.
- Solid experience in developing and reviewing high-level and low-level software requirements.
- Strong understanding of object-based and object-oriented software design and implementation.
- Proficiency in C and C++, preferably within embedded or safety-critical software environments.
- Experience developing software on real-time operating systems, preferably VxWorks.
- Experience in software architecture, detailed design, coding, integration, debugging, and verification.
- Experience in developing test cases and automated test procedures.
- Positive knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with configuration management, requirements management, defect tracking, and revision-control tools such as Git, Subversion, and JIRA.
- Knowledge of civil aerospace software certification standards, preferably DO-178B/C at Design Assurance Level A.
- Experience in the design and development of Flight Management Systems, avionics software, aircraft applications, middleware, or platform software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges.

Work Experience

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Avionics, or a related engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in embedded software, avionics software, middleware, or platform software development.
- At least five years of technical leadership experience in designing and developing software architectures, core software libraries, middleware, or platform-level components within an aerospace or safety-critical environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering, certification, customer, and program teams to deliver complex and integrated software solutions.
