About the Role

We are hiring a Medical Biller to handle charge entry, claim submission and denial resolution for US outpatient physiotherapy and rehabilitation practices. You will make sure charges are entered accurately and on time, claims go out clean, and rejections and denials are worked to closure rather than left to age.

Key Responsibilities

- Enter charges into the practice management system within agreed turnaround time, ensuring units, date of service, rendering provider and place of service match the treatment note
- Verify eligibility and benefits before billing
- Check visit authorisation and remaining visit counts before claims are released – therapy carries tight authorisation and visit limits
- Confirm plan of care is on file, physician-certified and within its recertification window
- Scrub claims, submit through the clearinghouse, and work front-end rejections the same day
- Post payments from ERA and EOB, and handle correspondence and credit balances as required
- Work therapy denials including exhausted or missing authorisation, exceeded visit limits, missing or invalid modifiers, bundling edits and medical necessity
- Prepare corrected claims and appeals with supporting documentation and track them to closure
- Identify recurring denial reasons and escalate them so the same denial does not repeat
- Coordinate with coding, AR and credentialing teams on claim issues




- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance at all times

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline; life sciences or allied health preferred
- 2–4 years’ experience in US medical billing, charge entry or payment posting
- Working knowledge of the US revenue cycle, CMS-1500 claim form and EOB / ERA reading
- Understanding of therapy authorisation and visit-limit rules
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10-CM and modifiers as they apply to charge entry
- Hands-on experience with an EMR or PM system such as WebPT, Prompt, Raintree, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, AdvancedMD or Tebra
- Experience with a clearinghouse such as Availity, Waystar, Optum or Office Ally
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Accurate, detail-focused and comfortable with daily production targets
- Willing to work night shift

Preferred

- Experience billing physiotherapy, chiropractic or occupational therapy claims
- CPB (AAPC) certification
- Exposure to denial analysis and AR follow-up
