Job Overview:

LPL is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to lead and support the core network infrastructure across office locations and data centers. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and load balancing solutions, with a strong emphasis on Cisco technologies and F5 load balancers.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, exceptional troubleshooting skills,



and hands-on experience with network monitoring and performance optimization tools. This position is critical to delivering scalable, resilient, and secure networking solutions that support LPL, our advisors, and their clients.

Responsibilities:

- Deploy, and manage core network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, and WiFi across office and data center environments
- Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC), and Nexus platforms.
- Build and manage F5 LTM VIPs, iRule, perform health monitoring, and troubleshoot application delivery issues.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, identifying root causes, and developing continuous improvement of the environment
- Effectively collaborate with various Teams within the organization as well as external vendors and partners to support business needs and ensure network scalability and reliability.
- Conduct packet captures and deep-dive analysis using tools like ExtraHop and LiveWire.
- Monitor network performance and availability using SolarWinds, Cisco DNA Center, and Thousand Eyes.
- Participate in capacity planning, network optimization, and incident response.
- Document network diagram, configurations, and operational procedures.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
- Proven expertise in F5 LTM configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with SD-WAN solutions and wireless network design.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead network initiatives.

Preferred Technologies & Tools:

- Networking: Cisco Routers, Switches, WLC, Nexus, SD-WAN
- Load Balancing: F5 LTM
- Monitoring & Diagnostics: SolarWinds, Cisco DNA Center, ThousandEyes, ExtraHop, LiveWire
- Automation tools: Terraform, Ansible

Core Competencies:

- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and VLANs.
- Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Effective collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
- Commitment to documentation and process improvement.
- Solid knowledge and experience in well-known protocols and standards (i.e. VLANs, Spanning-Tree, OSPF, BGP, HSRPDNS, 802.1x)
