Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management System (QMS)

- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 standards.
- Ensure full compliance with customer specifications, statutory/regulatory requirements, and internal quality policies.
- Plan, conduct, and lead internal audits; coordinate and manage external/customer audits effectively.
- Drive adherence to the Zero Defect, Zero Effect (ZED) philosophy to enhance product quality while minimizing environmental impact.
- Establish and monitor quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation control systems.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and accountability across the machine shop division.

2. Process & Product Quality

- Oversee inspection processes for raw materials, in-process machining, and finished components.
- Ensure adherence to GD&T;, engineering drawings, and machining tolerances.
- Approve first article inspections (FAI) and production part approval process (PPAP) where applicable.

3. Team Leadership

- Lead and mentor quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular reviews.
- Build a culture of quality and accountability on the shop floor.

4. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

- Lead root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce defects and improve efficiency.

5. Customer & Supplier Quality

- Act as primary point of contact for customer quality issues and audits.
- Handle customer complaints and ensure timely resolution.




- Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance.

6. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports.
- Track KPIs such as rejection rates, scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
- Prepare quality reports for management review.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 8–15 years of experience in machining/manufacturing quality, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tolerances, and metrology.

Preferred Skills

- Certification in ISO 9001
- Six Sigma (Green Belt / Black Belt) preferred.
- Strong understanding of GD&T; and inspection tools (CMM, micrometers, gauges).
- Experience with ERP/MES systems.
