A CT and MRI technician operates advanced medical imaging machines to take transparent pictures of the inside of a patient's body so doctors can diagnose injuries and illnesses.Core Responsibilities
- Operate Scanners: Run CT and MRI machines to capture precise images of organs, bones, and tissues.
- Prepare Patients: Review patient medical history, check for metal safety risks, and explain the scan process.
- Position and Comfort: Help patients lie in the correct position and keep them calm during loud or long scans.
- Administer Contrast: Give special dyes or contrast agents under a doctor's supervision to highlight specific body areas.
- Maintain Safety: Follow strict radiation and magnetic safety rules, including guidelines from local health boards like AERB.
- Record Data: Save high-quality images to hospital computer systems and keep detailed patient logs.
Key Qualifications
- Education: A B.Sc.
in Medical Imaging Technology, Radiography, or a Diploma in Radiology Imaging Technology (DRIT/DMIT).
- Experience: Usually 0 to 3 years of clinical or hospital experience depending on the facility.
- Certifications: Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) and relevant local medical radiation safety certifications.
Required Skills
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of human anatomy, machine controls, and safety protocols.
- Communication: Clear speaking skills to comfort anxious patients and coordinate with radiologists.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours and help move patients onto the scan table.
Pay: ₹30,601.61 - ₹40,579.28 per month
