JOB DESCRIPTION – PLANT HEAD

Position Title: Plant Head

Work Location: Dholka, Gujarat

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. END-TO-END PLANT OPERATIONS Take overall responsibility for the smooth functioning of the manufacturing plant. Coordinate activities across production, maintenance, quality, stores and plant administration. Ensure production activities are planned and executed effectively. Monitor plant performance, operational efficiency and resource utilization. Identify operational bottlenecks and take timely corrective action. Ensure effective implementation of management decisions at the plant level. 2. PRODUCTION & MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS Monitor manufacturing operations and ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machinery and materials. Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth execution of production plans. Work closely with technical and production teams to identify recurring operational issues. Drive improvements in productivity, process discipline and resource utilization. Ensure proper coordination between production, maintenance and quality functions. 3. TEAM LEADERSHIP & MANPOWER MANAGEMENT Lead and supervise plant-level teams across production, maintenance and support functions. Plan and allocate manpower according to operational requirements. Establish explicit responsibilities and operational priorities for teams. Monitor employee performance, discipline and accountability. Address workforce-related issues and coordinate with HR/management wherever required. Build an effective and accountable plant team. 4. PLANT ADMINISTRATION & FACILITY MANAGEMENT Take ownership of overall plant administration and infrastructure. Ensure proper housekeeping, hygiene and general plant upkeep. Coordinate facility maintenance activities and ensure timely resolution of infrastructure-related issues. Ensure the plant remains organized, safe and operationally productive. Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies for facility-related requirements. 5. MAINTENANCE COORDINATION Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely preventive and breakdown maintenance. Monitor critical plant equipment and maintenance requirements. Ensure maintenance activities are planned with minimum disruption to production. Escalate major equipment or infrastructure concerns to senior management with appropriate recommendations. 6. CAPEX & PROJECT MANAGEMENT Lead plant-level CAPEX and improvement projects. Coordinate with vendors, contractors,



consultants and external agencies. Monitor project execution, timelines and resource requirements. Ensure projects are completed within approved budgets and timelines. Coordinate installation, modification, expansion and improvement activities at the plant. 7. VENDOR & CONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT Coordinate with external vendors, contractors and service providers. Evaluate operational requirements and coordinate timely execution of outsourced activities. Ensure contractors follow plant requirements, safety standards and operational guidelines. Maintain effective professional relationships with key vendors and service providers. 8. PROBLEM-SOLVING & OPERATIONAL IMPROVEMENT Identify recurring operational issues and develop practical solutions. Resolve routine plant-level problems proactively. Improve coordination between departments to minimize delays and operational gaps. Support initiatives related to productivity, efficiency and cost optimization. Escalate critical matters to senior management with clear facts, analysis and proposed solutions. 9. REPORTING & MANAGEMENT COORDINATION Keep senior management informed about plant performance and operational issues. Provide regular updates on production, manpower, maintenance, projects and major plant initiatives. Highlight operational risks and resource requirements in a timely manner. Present structured recommendations to management whenever higher-level decisions are required. CANDIDATE PROFILE Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing/plant operations. Strong preference for candidates from: - Polymer manufacturing - Plastics manufacturing - Polymer compounding - Masterbatch manufacturing - Extrusion-based manufacturing - Cable compound manufacturing - Wire & cable-related polymer manufacturing - Other closely related process-manufacturing industries Experience in a Plant Head, Plant Manager, Factory Manager or senior manufacturing operations leadership role preferred. Strong experience in overall plant administration and operational management. Proven experience managing production and maintenance teams.



Experience in manpower planning and workforce management. Experience handling vendors, contractors and plant-level projects. Exposure to CAPEX/project execution will be preferred. Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong communication, leadership and conflict-resolution skills. TECHNICAL / INDUSTRY EXPOSURE Candidates with practical exposure to polymer processing, compounding, extrusion, masterbatch manufacturing or similar plastics manufacturing processes will be preferred. Experience with equipment/processes such as extrusion, twin-screw extrusion, single-screw extrusion, kneading/compounding or related polymer-processing operations will be an advantage. Direct experience in cable manufacturing is NOT mandatory if the candidate has strong and relevant polymer/plastics manufacturing and plant-management experience. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical/manufacturing discipline preferred. Candidates with strong relevant manufacturing experience may also be considered based on their overall plant leadership exposure. LOCATION & RELOCATION Work Location: Dholka, Gujarat Candidates residing in or around Dholka/Ahmedabad will be preferred. Candidates from other locations must be willing to relocate to the Dholka vicinity. Preference will be given to candidates who can manage a practical daily commute or relocate close to the plant. KEY ATTRIBUTES We are looking for a hands-on manufacturing leader who can take ownership of the complete plant rather than focusing only on one technical function. The ideal candidate should be capable of: Managing people and resources effectively Coordinating production and maintenance Maintaining plant discipline and standards Managing vendors and contractors Executing CAPEX and plant projects Identifying and resolving operational issues Improving operational efficiency Communicating effectively with senior management Taking ownership of overall plant performance

Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹2,400,000.00 per year
