JOB DESCRIPTION – PURCHASE ENGINEER

Department: Purchase / Procurement

Reports To: Purchase Head / General Manager

Industry: Oil & Gas / Valve Manufacturing

Experience: 2–5 Years

Salary: ₹16,500 – ₹28,000 In-Hand/month, based on experience, skills & interview performance. Negotiable for the right candidate.

Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Weekly Off: 2nd & 4th Saturday off; however, candidate may be required to attend office on these days as per business requirements.

Job Summary

We are looking for a sincere, responsible and long-term oriented Purchase Engineer with 2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably from Oil & Gas, API, Valve, Engineering or Manufacturing industries.

The candidate should have practical knowledge of Purchase, Vendor Coordination, RFQ, Quotation Comparison, Negotiation, PO Preparation and Supplier Follow-up.

Experience/knowledge of Gate Valve Assembly and API 6A, API 16A & API 16C will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Handle day-to-day purchase and procurement activities as per company requirements.

Receive requirements from Production, Planning, Stores, Quality and Engineering departments.

Prepare and send RFQs / Enquiries to suppliers and collect quotations.

Prepare quotation comparison statements in MS Excel.

Coordinate with vendors for price, quality, specifications and delivery schedules.

Negotiate with suppliers and prepare Purchase Orders (POs) after approval.

Regularly follow up with suppliers for timely delivery of materials.

Maintain vendor database, quotations, POs and purchase records.

Coordinate for MTC, inspection reports and other quality documents, wherever required.

Assist in vendor identification and supplier evaluation.

Ensure procurement as per required drawings, specifications,



quality requirements and applicable API/company procedures.

Maintain required Sales files/documentation and provide limited coordination support to the Sales team.

Communicate professionally with suppliers through MS Outlook/email and telephone.

Required Experience & Knowledge

2–5 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement, preferably in:

Oil & Gas

Valve Manufacturing

API Product Manufacturing

Engineering / Mechanical Manufacturing

Machining / Manufacturing Industry

Valuable understanding of mechanical materials, components, drawings and manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of Gate Valve Assembly preferred.

Knowledge of API 6A, API 16A & API 16C preferred.

Good working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook.

Must be comfortable with professional email drafting, quotation handling and supplier follow-ups.

Good English & Hindi communication skills.
