MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

As a Software QA Engineer, you will contribute to the quality of our product by designing, executing, and documenting tests based on requirements and specifications. You will work closely with the QA team and other stakeholders to identify, report, and help resolve issues, supporting the delivery of a robust, high-quality product. This role is suitable for candidates with foundational QA experience who are eager to grow and expand their skills.

MAIN DUTIES:

The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership of a Software Engineer:

Collaborate with team members to understand functional requirements, technical specifications, business workflows, and design documents.

Test new features, components, and applications based on test cases and plans under the guidance of senior team members.

Create and execute well-structured test cases to ensure software quality and alignment with requirements.

Accurately log and report bugs, detailing steps to reproduce and relevant observations.

Communicate testing progress and issues to the QA team and stakeholders.





Participate in the analysis and investigation of production issues as directed.

Engage with Product Managers and Developers to clarify requirements and discuss defects.

Continuously learn about new technologies, QA methodologies, and tools through ongoing education and training opportunities

REQUIREMENTS

Education Level

Post-secondary degree or equivalent qualified experience

Experience

2-5 years of experience as a Functional QA Engineer or similar role.

Basic to intermediate knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

Experience in writing clear and concise test cases.

Familiarity with Agile development environments.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.

Exposure to SQL and experience with database queries. (Proficiency is a plus but not required.)

Exposure to API testing tools and concepts. (Prior hands-on experience is an asset.)
