We are looking for a Solar Design Engineer to support our solar projects from concept to execution. The role involves site assessment, solar system design, technical documentation, and coordination with project and execution teams to deliver high-quality solar solutions. Solar design engineers typically prepare detailed layouts, energy calculations, and drawings while ensuring compliance with project and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct site surveys and assess shadow, roof, and capacity feasibility for solar projects.
- Prepare PV system designs, layouts, single line diagrams, and fabrication/structure drawings.
- Carry out AC/DC cable sizing, earthing calculations, and string configuration planning.
- Prepare BOMs, technical specifications, and costing inputs for projects and tenders.
- Support site execution, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and project managers to ensure design accuracy and timely delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety norms, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with EPC execution teams, procurement, vendors, and site teams to ensure designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with project requirements.
- Provide design and technical support during EPC execution, installation, testing, and commissioning.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical design fundamentals.




- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
- Working knowledge of PVsyst, HelioScope, Google SketchUp, or similar design tools is preferred.
- Ability to prepare SLDs, layouts, shading analysis, and energy yield calculations.
- Good understanding of cables, earthing, inverter selection, and BOS components.
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, Civil, or related field.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant solar design experience preferred.
- Experience with rooftop, commercial, industrial, or utility-scale projects is an advantage.
- Prior experience in end-to-end Solar EPC activities, including engineering/design, procurement coordination, site execution, installation, testing, and commissioning.

Preferred Experience

- Solar project design for rooftop or ground-mounted systems.
- Experience with hybrid, off-grid, or storage-based solar systems.
- Exposure to tendering, estimation, and project handover.

Compensation

- Market-competitive salary based on experience and skill level.
- Salary can be structured as fixed plus performance-based incentives.
