Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled cylindrical grinding operator responsible for operating and setting cylindrical grinding machines to achieve accurate dimensions, surface finish, and quality standards as per engineering drawings and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate cylindrical grinding machines safely and efficiently.
- Set and adjust grinding machines, workholding fixtures, grinding wheels, and machine parameters.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and surface-finish requirements.
- Perform grinding operations on shafts, pins, bushes, and other cylindrical components.
- Select appropriate grinding wheels and maintain proper wheel dressing and balancing.
- Measure components using micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per specifications.
- Inspect finished components and identify defects or deviations.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain consistent quality.
- Follow production schedules and achieve daily production targets.
- Carry out routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance.




- Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Record production, inspection, and rejection details as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in cylindrical grinding operations.
- Good knowledge of cylindrical grinding machines and grinding processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T;, tolerances, and surface finish.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of grinding wheel selection, dressing, and machine setting.
- Valuable understanding of quality and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Preferred Experience

Experience with CNC cylindrical grinding machines will be an added advantage.

- Dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Production output and achievement of targets.
- Rejection and rework percentage.
- Machine utilization.
- Compliance with safety and 5S standards.

Working Conditions

- Work will be performed in a manufacturing/production shop-floor environment.
- May require standing for extended periods and working in shifts.
- Must follow all applicable PPE, safety, and workplace procedures.

Salary: depending on experience and skill level.
