The Extrusion Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining extrusion machinery to ensure continuous production of quality products according to specified dimensions, production targets, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate extrusion machines as per approved production parameters and work instructions.
- Start, stop, and monitor the extrusion line safely.
- Set and control machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, speed, and material feed rate.
- Load and handle raw materials according to the production requirement.
- Monitor the extrusion process continuously and identify abnormalities.
- Check product dimensions, thickness, width, shape, finish, and overall quality.
- Ensure products meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Adjust machine settings whenever necessary to maintain product quality.
- Minimize production rejection, scrap, and raw material wastage.
- Maintain required production output and achieve daily production targets.
- Record production quantity, rejection, downtime, and material consumption.
- Identify machine problems and immediately inform the Production Supervisor or Maintenance Department.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and minor machine adjustments.
- Support die changing, machine setup, and product changeover activities.
- Clean extrusion dies, machine components, and surrounding work areas.
- Carry out basic preventive maintenance checks before and after production.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials and finished products.
- Follow FIFO and material identification procedures where applicable.
- Maintain valuable housekeeping and follow 5S standards in the production area.




- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Never operate or adjust machinery without proper authorization.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores departments as required.
- Immediately report any safety hazard, quality issue, machine breakdown, or abnormal condition.
- Perform other production-related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Quality Responsibilities

- Conduct regular visual and dimensional inspections during production.
- Ensure the finished product is free from defects such as deformation, uneven surface, cracks, scratches, colour variation, or dimensional deviation.
- Segregate rejected products and report quality issues immediately.
- Follow approved SOPs, process parameters, and quality control requirements.
- Maintain traceability and production records accurately.

Safety Responsibilities

- Follow machine safety instructions at all times.
- Use safety shoes, gloves, helmet, eye protection, and other prescribed PPE.
- Ensure machine guards and emergency stop systems are functional.
- Do not touch moving or heated machine components without proper safety precautions.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures during maintenance activities where applicable.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents,



or near-miss incidents immediately.

Qualification

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Plastics Processing, or related technical discipline.
- Candidates with relevant extrusion machine experience may also be considered.

Experience

- Fresher: Candidates with relevant ITI/Diploma qualification can be considered for trainee positions.
- Experienced: 1–5 years of experience operating extrusion machines in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of extrusion machine operation.
- Basic understanding of temperature, pressure, speed, and process controls.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Measuring Tape, and Micrometer.
- Basic machine troubleshooting knowledge.
- Ability to understand production drawings and specifications.
- Good attention to quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety and 5S.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
