The Commercial Risk Solutions – Consultant is responsible for the effective management of fiduciary ledgers and related cash operations, ensuring accurate, timely movement of funds between clients, markets and Aon entities. The role provides expert support on complex accounting and reconciliation issues, delivers high‑quality reporting and analysis to senior collaborators, and leads or contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that reduce operational and financial risk and enhance service to internal and external collaborators.

Job Title
Underwriting Support Analyst – AUM Insights
Role Purpose
The Underwriting Analyst is a member of the AUM Insights team and is primarily responsible for supporting the underwriting and operational activities of the ACT team.
The role provides day-to-day support across insurance processes, data administration, policy and transaction management, operational controls and management information. Working closely with ACT collaborators and wider AUM teams, the Underwriting Support Analyst helps ensure that insurance transactions are processed accurately, business information is maintained effectively and operational requirements are delivered within agreed timelines.
The role reports into AUM Insights while working closely with ACT stakeholders to support their underwriting administration and operational requirements. Although the position is primarily insurance and operations focused, it also offers exposure to reporting, data quality and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting and Insurance Operations Support
- Support the day-to-day administration of underwriting and insurance-related activities across ACT.
- Assist with the preparation, processing and maintenance of policy, risk and transaction information.
- Support new business,
renewal and mid-term adjustment activities in line with agreed processes and service standards.
- Review information provided for completeness and accuracy and follow up on missing or inconsistent details.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across relevant underwriting, policy administration and operational systems.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of underwriting documentation, schedules, trackers and supporting records.
- Assist with referrals, approvals and queries, ensuring relevant information is captured and shared with the appropriate collaborators.
- Support underwriting teams in applying agreed processes, controls and guidelines.
- Help ensure insurance transactions and supporting documentation are processed within agreed service levels.
Operational Reporting and Management Information
- Prepare and maintain regular operational reports, trackers and management information.
- Support the collection and validation of data used for ACT operational and underwriting reporting.
- Assist with monitoring volumes, service levels, turnaround times, outstanding actions and other relevant measures.
- Use Power BI, Excel and other reporting tools to organise, analyse and present business information.
- Identify trends, exceptions and recurring issues within operational data and raise these with relevant stakeholders.
- Support improvements to recurring reporting and tracking processes.
- Contribute to Power BI reporting and dashboard requirements where appropriate.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Work closely with ACT collaborators, underwriting teams, operations colleagues and AUM Insights.
- Respond to queries and provide transparent updates on outstanding activities, issues and delivery timelines.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with collaborators across different functions and levels of seniority.
- Call out risks, delays and data issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in team meetings, process reviews and continuous-improvement discussions.
Process Improvement and Controls
- Find opportunities to simplify, standardise or improve insurance and operational processes.
- Support the documentation of procedures, business rules and working instructions.
- Help develop sustainable processes that can be delivered effectively across locations.
- Support testing and implementation of process, system or reporting changes.
- Assist with automation and reporting improvements where appropriate.
Skills and Experience
Insurance and Operational Experience
- Relevant experience within insurance, underwriting support, insurance operations, policy administration or a related role.
- Good understanding of insurance processes and terminology.
- Experience working with policy, premium, risk or other insurance-related information.
- Understanding of the policy lifecycle, including new business, renewals and policy changes.
- Experience supporting underwriting or insurance operations teams.
- Ability to interpret and apply business rules, procedures and operational controls.
- Experience working in a process-driven environment with a strong focus on accuracy and service delivery.
- Exposure to delegated underwriting, facilities or commercial insurance would be advantageous but is not essential.
Data and Reporting Skills
- Strong Excel capability, including experience working with formulas, lookups, pivot tables, filters and large datasets.
- Ability to prepare, validate and maintain operational reports and trackers.
- Good understanding of data quality, reconciliation and validation principles.
- Ability to identify trends, exceptions and inconsistencies within business data.
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting tools would be an advantage.
- Interest in developing broader reporting, analytics and data skills would be beneficial.
