Solar Proposal & Design Engineer – Freelance

We are looking for a Solar Proposal & Design Engineer with strong knowledge of On-Grid, Off-Grid and Hybrid Solar PV systems to support our solar projects.

The candidate will be responsible for analyzing electricity bills, assessing client requirements, sizing the appropriate solar system, calculating savings, and preparing professional client-ready solar proposals.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze residential, commercial and industrial electricity bills.
- Understand consumption patterns, tariff structure, demand charges, TOD charges and other bill components.
- Recommend the most suitable On-Grid, Off-Grid or Hybrid Solar System.
- Size solar PV systems based on electricity consumption and client requirements.
- Size BESS/battery systems where required.
- Calculate solar generation, electricity savings, payback period and ROI.
- Prepare technical specifications, system configurations and preliminary BOQs.
- Prepare professional solar proposals and presentations for clients.
- Compare multiple options such as On-Grid vs Hybrid vs Solar + BESS.
- Provide technical support to the sales/project team.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of On-Grid,



Off-Grid & Hybrid Solar Systems
- Knowledge of BESS / battery storage systems
- Good understanding of solar PV system sizing
- Electricity bill and tariff analysis
- Knowledge of net metering and zero-export systems
- Excellent Excel / Google Sheets skills
- Ability to prepare skilled proposals
- Good analytical and calculation skills
- Knowledge of MSEDCL/Mahavitaran billing is an advantage

Ideal Candidate

Someone who can independently take an electricity bill + client requirement and convert it into:

Bill Analysis → Solar Sizing → System Selection → Generation & Savings Calculation → Technical Design → Client-Ready Proposal

Experience

1–3 years in solar design, engineering, estimation, proposal preparation or technical sales support preferred.

Freelancers with strong practical experience are welcome.

Compensation

Freelance / Per-Project / Per-Proposal basis, depending on experience and scope.
