WE ARE HIRING | ASSISTANT FARM MANAGER

Doctor Seeds Pvt. Ltd. | Ludhiana, Punjab

We are looking for a hands-on, accountable and ownership-driven Assistant Farm Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our Research Farm and ensure that all farm operations are scientifically planned, efficiently executed and properly documented.

Farm Operations & Agronomy

Manage end-to-end crop cycles, from land prep and sowing to harvesting—implementing precise agronomic schedules (nutrition, irrigation, and crop protection) and conducting routine scouting for timely field management.

Research & R&D; Support

Collaborate with breeding teams to execute field trials and nurseries, ensuring strict plot integrity, tag accuracy, accurate layout implementation, and adherence to experimental protocols.

Workforce & Labor Management

Drive daily labor allocation, workflow scheduling, and direct supervision of farm workers and supervisors to maximize productivity and efficiency.

Asset & Inventory Control

Oversee farm infrastructure, machinery, and irrigation systems (including preventive maintenance), while managing inventory and stock records for seeds, chemicals, and equipment.

Farm Hygiene & Standards

Maintain the research farm in a clean, organized, weed-free, and scientifically managed condition.

Reporting & Operational Tracking

Track farm calendars,



maintain detailed records of inputs and trial observations, and generate daily/weekly Excel reports on labor, inventory, and operational performance.

What We Are Looking ForEssential:

- B.Sc. in Agriculture (Mandatory)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Farm Supervisor, preferably progressing to Senior Farm Supervisor / equivalent supervisory responsibility.
- Practical experience in managing farm labour, crop operations and day-to-day agricultural activities.
- Positive knowledge of crop agronomy, irrigation, fertilizers, insect pests, diseases and weeds.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel for reporting, planning and record maintenance.
- Ability to independently plan and execute farm activities.

Preferred:

- M.Sc. in Agronomy / Agronomy-related discipline
- Experience in a research farm, seed company, plant breeding programme or R&D; environment.
- Experience with field trials, breeding nurseries and experimental plots.
- Knowledge of crop-specific agronomic practices and research trial management.
