Lab Assistant is responsible for supporting trainers and students in the smooth, safe, and effective operation of the CNC/VMC training laboratory. The role includes machine and equipment preparation, tool and material management, lab maintenance, student practical support, safety compliance, and maintaining laboratory records.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare CNC, VMC, simulator, tools, raw materials, and other equipment before practical sessions.

* Assist trainers during CNC and VMC practical training sessions.

* Support students in machine operation, tool handling, workpiece setting, and basic practical activities.

* Ensure proper availability and condition of cutting tools, measuring instruments, fixtures, and consumables.

* Maintain proper tool inventory and record tool/material issue and return.

* Assist with machine cleaning, lubrication, coolant management, and basic preventive maintenance.

* Check machines and laboratory equipment before and after training sessions.

* Report machine faults, breakdowns, damaged tools,



and safety issues to the trainer or concerned authority.

* Maintain 5S, cleanliness, housekeeping, and workplace organization in the laboratory.

* Ensure students follow PPE, machine safety, and laboratory safety procedures.

* Assist in setting up practical exercises, job components, fixtures, and measuring instruments.

* Support CNC simulator and computer-based practical activities when required.

* Maintain lab registers, equipment records, maintenance records, and consumable stock records.

* Assist in preparing the lab for assessments, demonstrations, inspections, and special training activities.

* Ensure proper shutdown of machines, electrical equipment, compressors, and other lab facilities after training.

* Coordinate with the trainer for daily practical requirements and lab schedules.

* Follow institute/company SOPs, safety guidelines, and operational procedures.
