Job Description -
Position Chief Fire and Safety Officer
Reporting to GM – Operations
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering, Fire Technology, Industrial
Safety, or related field.
Certification in Fire Safety Management preferred.
Additional certifications such as:
NEBOSH
IOSH
OSHA
First Aid & CPR are advantageous
Experience
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in fire & safety management.
Prior experience in cinemas, multiplexes, malls, hospitality, commercial buildings, or
public entertainment venues preferred.Experience handling large public occupancy facilities is highly desirable.

JOBS & RESPONSIBILITIES: -
Fire Safety Management
• Ensure compliance with all fire safety laws, cinema safety regulations, municipal requirements, and occupancy norms.
• Develop and implement fire prevention and emergency response plans for the cinema.
• Monitor and maintain all fire protection systems including:
• Fire alarm systems
• Sprinkler systems
• Smoke detectors
• Hydrant systems
• Portable fire extinguishers
• Emergency lighting and exit signage
• Conduct regular inspections of auditoriums, projection rooms, electrical panels, HVAC systems,kitchens/concession areas, and public spaces.
• Coordinate periodic fire drills and evacuation exercises.
Safety & Risk Assessment
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments across all operational areas.
• Ensure crowd management and safe occupancy practices during movie screenings and events.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and prepare corrective action reports.
• Implement preventive safety measures for electrical, mechanical, and public safety risks.
Compliance & Documentation
• Maintain all statutory fire safety records, NOCs, inspection reports, licenses, and compliance documents.
• Liaise with Fire Department, local authorities, insurance inspectors,
and auditors.
• Ensure timely renewal of fire licenses and certifications.
• Prepare SOPs, emergency manuals, and safety protocols.
Emergency Response Management
• Lead emergency response during fire incidents, medical emergencies, evacuations, or disasters.
• Coordinate with local emergency services including fire brigade, police, and hospitals.
• Ensure all emergency exits and evacuation routes remain accessible at all times.
Training & Awareness
• Conduct regular fire safety and first-aid training for cinema staff, housekeeping, security, and concession teams.
• Train employees on use of firefighting equipment and evacuation procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness among employees and vendors.
Vendor & Contractor Safety
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety standards during maintenance or renovation work.
• Review safety permits for hot work, electrical work, and confined space activities.
Required Skills
• Robust knowledge of fire safety regulations and emergency procedures.
• Knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems.

• Strong documentation and reporting abilities.
• Good communication and staff training capability.
• Ability to coordinate with government authorities and emergency agencies.
