We are looking for an experienced Totara Developer with solid expertise in Totara LMS customization, integrations, and cloud-based deployments(link removed) The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of Totara architecture, mapping flows, and backend development, along with hands-on experience in AWS and identity integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain solutions on the Totara LMS platform
- Work extensively on Totara mapping flow to map and manage entities within the system
- Customize Totara functionalities using PHP to meet business requirements
- Develop and consume REST APIs within the Totara framework
- Integrate Totara with external systems including AWS services and identity providers
- Optimize database performance, queries, and caching mechanisms
- Ensure secure database design and implementation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system enhancements and integrations
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
Mandatory Skills
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in Core Totara development
- Strong expertise in:
- PHP (core + customization)
- Totara LMS architecture and mapping flow
- Database expertise:
- PostgreSQL (PgSQL)
- MS SQL Server
- Hands-on experience with AWS services:
- EC2, DynamoDB, S3
- Authentication & caching mechanisms
- Experience with identity providers & authentication:
- Okta
- OAuth (implementation & integration with Totara)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Database optimization & caching strategies
- Secure database practices
Good to Have Skills
- Experience with CDC (Change Data Capture) tools
- Integration experience with Salesforce
- Familiarity with Datadog for monitoring and logging
- Experience in building scalable and high-performance systems
