Candidates with experience in Customs Compliance, Global Trade, Import/Export Operations, Trade Compliance, HS Code Classification, Regulatory Compliance, and SAP GTS/Trade Management Systems are encouraged to apply.
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Customs or Global Trade
- Experience in Import/Export Documentation and Compliance
- Knowledge of HS Code Classification and Customs Regulations
- Familiarity with SAP GTS, Amber Road, or similar Trade Compliance tools
- Experience in Pharma, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or other regulated industries is preferred
- Willingness to work in US shifts

Job Description Summary
As Customs & Global Trade Team Leader, you will provide detail oriented and proactive support for international trade operations. This role ensures compliance with global customs regulations and supports smooth import/export processes for pharmaceutical products.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Customs Documentation Review
Verify import/export documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
2. HS Code Classification
Support correct classification of pharmaceutical goods using Harmonized System codes.
3. Regulatory Compliance Monitoring
Ensure trade activities comply with CDSCO, FDA, EMA, and other global regulations.
4. Trade Data Analysis
Analyse customs and trade data to identify trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
5. Customs Filing Support
Assist in preparing and submitting digital customs declarations and filings.
6. Controlled Substance Handling
Ensure proper documentation and permits for regulated pharmaceutical substances.
7. Stakeholder Coordination
Collaborate remotely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
8. Audit & Inspection Readiness
Maintain digital records and support virtual audits by customs and regulatory authorities.
9. Process Improvement
Recommend enhancements to streamline customs workflows and reduce delays.
10. Global Trade Compliance Reporting
Generate reports on trade compliance metrics, duty payments, and regulatory updates.
To be successful in this role, you require:
· 5+ years of experience in Customs or Global Trade, preferably in the pharmaceutical or regulated industry
· Familiarity with ERP systems, Customs software e.g. SAP, GTS, Amber Road etc
· Familiarity with global trade regulations and controlled substance handling
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Demonstrated excellent customer service skills, problem solving and a strong team orientation.
· Ability to successfully multi-task and manage several diverse responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.
· Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
· Flexible to work in night shift.
· Able to be versatile, including willingness to work overtime as needed and/or an occasional Saturday if business needs dictate.
