Job Title: QA Engineer AWS (Infrastructure as Code - Terraform)

Job Summary

We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong expertise in AWS cloud and Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role focuses on ensuring the quality, security, and reliability of cloud infrastructure deployments through robust testing strategies and automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and execute test plans for Terraform-based infrastructure deployments on AWS
- Validate AWS resource provisioning (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, etc.)
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for IaC validation
- Perform functional, integration, and regression testing of infrastructure changes
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with AWS best practices and security standards
- Validate Terraform modules for:
- Correct configuration
- Idempotency
- Reusability
- Integrate infrastructure testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Perform configuration drift detection and validation
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams for defect resolution
- Implement policy-as-code and test-as-code approaches
- Generate test reports, logs, and defect tracking

Required Skills

AWS Cloud (Mandatory)

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services:
- EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch
- Solid understanding of:
- Networking (VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups)
- Identity & Access Management (IAM roles/policies)
- High availability and scalability

Terraform (Mandatory)

- Strong experience in Terraform (IaC development and testing)
- Working knowledge of:
- Terraform modules, state management, and workspaces
- Terraform lifecycle and execution plan validation
- Experience validating:
- Module reusability
- Dependency management
- State consistency

IaC Testing & Automation





- Experience with testing tools such as:
- Terratest (preferred)
- Kitchen-Terraform / Test Kitchen
- Strong programming skills in:
- Python or Go (preferred for Terratest)
- Experience in:
- Infrastructure unit testing
- Integration testing for cloud resources
- Automated validation scripts

CI/CD & DevOps

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools:
- Jenkins / GitHub Actions / AWS CodePipeline
- Experience integrating IaC testing into pipeline workflows
- Solid knowledge of Git version control

Security & Compliance

- Experience with security scanning tools:
- Checkov / tfsec
- Knowledge of:
- AWS security best practices
- Policy-as-Code using:
- Open Policy Agent (OPA)
- Ability to validate infrastructure against compliance standards

Preferred Skills

- Experience with:
- Docker and containerized environments
- Kubernetes (EKS) - Nice to have
- Monitoring and logging tools:
- AWS CloudWatch, Splunk
- Experience with:
- Cost optimization validation
- Performance and resilience testing
- Exposure to DevSecOps practices

Experience Requirements

- 37 years of experience in QA / DevOps / SRE roles
- Minimum 2+ years of AWS + Terraform (IaC) hands-on experience
- Proven experience in test automation for cloud infrastructure
- Experience in Agile/DevOps environments

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Preferred Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate

Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Bitbucket/GitOps workflows
