Job Summary: As an HR Executive within our industrial catering unit of an industrial and institutional food service providing organization, will ensure human resources functions with a focus on catering operations, staff boarding and lodging facilities, and statutory compliance. The role will encompass recruitment, employee relations, training and development, ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations, and managing residential facilities for staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment and Staffing:
- Collaborate with department heads to determine staffing needs for both catering operations and boarding/lodging facilities.
- Develop recruitment strategies and oversee the hiring process for various positions, including chefs, kitchen staff, servers, and residential supervisors.
- Conduct interviews, screen candidates, and coordinate job offers.
- Ensure smooth onboarding procedures for new hires, including accommodation arrangements.
1. Employee Onboarding:
- Develop and implement effective onboarding processes for current hires, including orientation sessions and provision of necessary resources.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure a smooth transition for new employees into their roles.
- Facilitate the completion of required paperwork, including employment contracts and benefits enrolment forms.
1. Employee Relations and Boarding Facility Management:
- Act as a liaison between management and employees, addressing concerns related to work, accommodation, and residential living.
- Maintain a conducive and harmonious living environment within the boarding and lodging facilities.
- Oversee room allocations, check-ins,
and check-outs, ensuring compliance with occupancy regulations.
- Address resident inquiries, issues, and grievances promptly and professionally.
1. Training and Development:
- Identify training needs for catering and residential staff and develop training programs accordingly.
- Conduct training sessions on food safety, hygiene standards, customer service, and residential facility management.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
1. Statutory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements related to employment and residential facilities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for regulatory audits.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation and implement necessary policy revisions.
1. Performance Management:
- Develop and implement performance appraisal systems for catering and residential staff.
- Provide guidance to managers on performance management techniques and goal setting.
- Address performance issues and implement improvement plans as necessary.
1. Administrative Tasks:
- Manage HR administrative tasks, including payroll processing, benefits administration, and personnel file management.
- Coordinate employee benefits programs, including housing allowances and subsidies.
- Prepare reports and presentations on HR metrics, compliance, and facility management for management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in HR management, preferably in the food service or hospitality industry, with exposure to staff boarding and lodging facilities.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and MS Office Suite.
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Understanding of residential facility management practices and regulations.
- Certification in HR management or relevant professional accreditation is a plus.
