Role Description The Video Editor role at Janhit Darpan is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Patna Area.

The Video

Editor will work closely with reporters, producers, and the digital team to edit short-form and long-form news videos, ground reports, and public-interest stories for various digital platforms. Daily responsibilities include assembling raw footage, selecting impactful visuals and sound bites, performing color grading, adding motion graphics and titles, and ensuring that each video aligns with editorial and brand guidelines. The role involves collaborating on storyboarding,



refining visual narratives for social media and web channels, and optimizing videos for audience engagement.

The Video

Editor is expected to manage multiple projects, meet publishing deadlines, and maintain high technical and editorial standards.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in video post-production, including Video Editing and Video Production for digital news content.
- Proficiency in Video Color Grading to maintain visual consistency and enhance storytelling.
- Ability to create and integrate Motion Graphics and Graphics to support news packages and explainers.
- Experience with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and basic audio editing.
- Understanding of digital news formats, social media platforms, and audience engagement best practices.
- Attention to detail, solid visual sense, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to take feedback and align with editorial guidelines.
- Relevant education or training in film, media, journalism, or a related field is preferred; prior experience in news or digital media is an advantage.
