About the Role :

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor to create engaging short-form and long-form video content for social media and digital platforms.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, transitions, captions, sound design, and current social media editing trends. You will work closely with content strategists, creators, and the marketing team to transform raw footage into polished, high-performing content.

Key Responsibilities :

- Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social media platforms
- Edit long-form videos, interviews, podcasts, promotional videos, and educational content when required
- Add subtitles, captions, graphics, transitions, sound effects, music, and visual effects
- Turn raw footage into engaging and professionally finished videos
- Follow scripts, content briefs, and brand guidelines
- Create robust opening hooks and maintain audience retention throughout videos
- Use B-roll, stock footage, screenshots, animations, and supporting visuals where appropriate
- Resize and adapt videos for different platforms and aspect ratios
- Work closely with content strategists to understand the purpose and target audience of each video
- Maintain consistency with the brand’s visual identity and editing style
- Review and revise videos based on feedback
- Organise footage, audio, graphics, project files, and completed exports
- Deliver videos according to content calendars and deadlines
- Stay updated with trending editing styles, transitions, effects, memes, and social media formats
- Suggest creative ideas to make content more engaging and shareable

Required Skills :

- Strong video editing and visual storytelling skills
- Good understanding of short-form social media content




- Ability to create engaging edits with strong pacing and retention
- Knowledge of captions, motion graphics, transitions, sound design, and colour correction
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Good understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn content formats
- Ability to understand briefs and independently execute edits
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to experiment with new editing techniques and AI-based editing tools

Preferred Software Skills :

Experience with one or more of the following:

- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- Final Cut Pro
- Canva
- Adobe Photoshop

Preferred Qualifications :

- 1–3 years of experience in video editing, social media editing, content production, or a related field
- Degree or diploma in Media, Film, Animation, Design, Mass Communication, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
- Freelance or agency experience will also be considered
- A strong portfolio of edited videos is highly preferred

You should understand hooks, pacing, storytelling, visual pattern interruptions, captions, sound effects, and editing techniques that can improve watch time, retention, and engagement.

Performance will be evaluated based on:

- Quality of video edits
- Timely delivery of assigned videos
- Number of revisions required
- Improvement in video watch time and retention
- Engagement generated by edited content
- Consistency with the brand’s editing style
- Ability to follow briefs accurately
- Creativity and introduction of recent editing ideas
- Organisation of project files and footage
- Ability to handle multiple videos consistently
