The Core Engineering The Core Engineering builds and operates the platforms, applications, data solutions, models, and analytics that power critical processes for The Core divisions of the firm (e.g., Risk, responsible for the risk profile of firm activities; Controllers, responsible for the financial control and reporting obligations; Compliance, responsible for the firm’s compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks; Corporate Treasury, responsible for the firm’s liquidity, funding, balance sheet, etc.; and Human Capital Management, responsible for attracting, developing, and managing a global workforce). A centralized engineering structure in support of The Core enables a common platform model and operating framework that promotes consistent governance and scalable solutions, leveraging cloud, AI, and machine learning for innovation and efficiency.

The Core

Engineering’s 2,000+ engineers and strats deliver engineering, data, analytics, and quantitative capabilities within six business units:

- Metrics & Analytics Platforms: responsible for the measurement and management of the firm’s risk, capital, and liquidity for The Core functions
- The Core Strats: responsible for the development and implementation of models and other quantitative methodologies, including the accuracy and attribution of modeled metrics
- Financials & Reporting: responsible for facilitating the production of the firm’s financials and a wide range of reporting functions
- Non-Financial Risk & Controls: responsible for non-financial risk and control processes
- Enterprise Platforms: responsible for platforms and applications that support critical operational processes across The Core such as payments, people processes, and procurement
- Shared Services: responsible for driving the adoption of consistent engineering strategy, including data platforms, cloud, and AI enablement, as well as the management of technology risk

The Core is responsible for financial control and regulatory obligations of the firm. They safeguard the assets of the firm through an independent scrutiny of the financial information and ensure accurate reporting to internal and external consumers. They provide critical metrics and related analysis to the firm’s and divisions’ leadership to navigate the evolving business strategy, including incumbent and strategic initiatives.

Controllers play an important role in the changing landscape of the firm, including its new business ventures and acquisitions, and ensure that these new initiatives are in line with the regulatory expectations as well as controlled in terms of their incorporation into the firm

Engineers in The Core help ensure the firm meets all of its financial control and reporting obligations. Working in small and nimble teams, we build critical and complex software to calculate P&L;, measure and monitor the firm’s capital, balance sheet and liquidity metrics, and regulatory filings across the globe.





Our Impact The Core Engineering is responsible for designing and implementing solutions to manage firm’s profit and loss (P&L;), measure and monitor the firm’s capital, balance sheet and liquidity metrics, and regulatory obligations. Our global agile teams (based across Americas, EMEA & Asia) develop and manage the platforms, calculation engines, and analytical tools that controllers, risk management, and deal-making teams use to project, monitor and report externally to regulators for both regular business activity and under stress scenarios.

Responsibilities

- In an Agile environment manage end-to-end systems development cycle from requirements analysis to coding, testing, UAT, implementation and maintenance
- Develop high level/detailed technical designs, testing strategies, and implementation plans
- Work in a dynamic,



fast-paced environment that provides exposure to all areas of Finance
- Understand and respond to business needs, facilitating and developing process workflow, data requirements, and specifications required to support implementation
- Build robust relationships with business partners
- Identify opportunities for cross-divisional collaboration and reuse of common solutions
- Familiarity with LLMs, AI-powered automations, prompt engineering concepts.

Skills & Experience We Are Looking For

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Hands-on software development experience preferably in Java, C/C++, Python, or Scala, exposure to RDBMS and NoSQL datastores
- Strong programming and problem-solving skills
- A clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design and core programming concepts
- Strong full-stack technical design and development skills and experience
- Comfortable with multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical & business audiences and working globally
- Interest in finance
