Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

A. MV Panel Testing &

- Inspection

- Overall responsibility for electrical testing and final inspection of MV Panels.

- Ensure testing as per approved drawings, QAP/ITP, procedures and applicable standards.

- Establish and maintain testing procedures, checklists and traceability systems.

- Supervise testing of VCBs, CTs/PTs, protection circuits, control circuits, interlocks and auxiliary circuits.

- Ensure IR, MV, contact resistance, VCB timing, functional, CT polarity and other applicable tests are completed correctly.

- Supervise numerical relay testing, settings verification and secondary injection testing.

- Ensure accurate and complete test reports and records.

B. Quality &

- Process Improvement

- Reduce final rejection, rework, testing failures and customer complaints.

- Drive quality improvement in fabrication, powder coating, assembly, testing and dispatch.

- Identify recurring defects and conduct RCA, CAPA/8D and corrective actions.

- Improve testing productivity through standardization, automation, fixtures and improved methods.

- Monitor First-Time-Right and testing cycle time.

C. Customer Inspection &

- Plant Approval

- Lead customer inspections, FAT and third-party inspections.

- Ensure inspection readiness and minimize customer punch points.

- Support plant/customer approvals such as Reliance, Suzlon, PGCIL and other key customers.

- Coordinate closure of customer observations and complaints.

D. Failure Investigation

- Lead investigation of shop-floor, commissioning and field failures.

- Analyze technical failures related to VCBs, CTs, relays, wiring, protection and control circuits.

- Establish root cause and monitor corrective/preventive actions.

- Ensure lessons learned are incorporated into procedures and manufacturing processes.

E. Documentation &

- QMS

- Review QAPs, ITPs, testing procedures, inspection formats and records.





- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.

- Lead/participate in internal, customer and external audits.

- Ensure effective calibration and traceability of testing instruments.

- Participate in management review meetings and ensure closure of action points.

F. Team &

- Resource Management

- Plan and effectively utilize testing manpower and equipment.

- Develop competency of testing engineers/technicians.

- Conduct technical training and quality awareness programs.

- Develop future team leaders and promote a quality-oriented culture.

- Conduct periodic improvement meetings and report performance to management.

Technical Skills &

- Attributes Required:

- Strong knowledge of MV Switchgear and MV Panels.

- Hands-on expertise in:

- VCB testing and timing analysis

- CT polarity and CT circuit testing

- Insulation Resistance and HV testing

- Contact resistance testing

- Protection and control circuit testing

- Interlock and functional testing

- Numerical relay testing and setting verification

- Secondary injection testing

- Knowledge of numerical relays such as: ABB REF615, Siemens 7SR10, Ashida ADR241

- Ability to read electrical schematic, control and protection drawings.

- Knowledge of IEC/IS standards and customer specifications.

- QAP/ITP and FAT knowledge.

- Knowledge of calibration systems and electrical test instruments.

- Knowledge of RCA, CAPA, 8D, Pareto, 5-Why and continuous improvement.

- Good understanding of ISO 9001 and audit systems.

- Knowledge of testing automation, standardization and productivity improvement.
