The role of a Test/Quality Engineer is to enhance the quality of software delivery in a DevOps workplace by embedding a quality engineering mindset throughout the delivery lifecycle. This position focuses on risk-based testing, quality automation, and leveraging modern methodologies, including AI, to improve efficiency and reliability in testing processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated tests at multiple levels (unit, API/contract, integration, UI, end-to-end) ensuring reliable operation within CI/CD.
- Embed quality engineering practices into DevOps delivery with a proactive focus on prevention.
- Conduct risk analysis and develop test strategies aligned with business impact and critical user scenarios.
- Establish and maintain quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance testability and design quality from the outset.
- Monitor and establish key quality metrics for the testing processes.
- Drive improvements to testing frameworks and automation environments.
- Implement non-functional testing practices when applicable.
- Contribute to the transformation roadmap for Test & Quality practices incorporating AI solutions.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Quality Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in software quality engineering.
- Proven experience in Agile/DevOps environments as a QA/Test Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Strong understanding of testing principles across different levels of the testing pyramid.
- Experience with visual validation techniques for UI code.
Nice to Have
- Experience in designing test strategies and defining quality metrics.
- Exposure to "Agent in the loop" testing workflows.
- Knowledge of Design Tokens.
- Fluent English language skills.
