- Plant & Technical Head /n /n Location: East Africa /n /n Job Role Overview :
- /n We are seeking an experienced Plant & Technical Head to lead the establishment, commissioning, and operations of a Construction Chemicals manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for product development for Dry-Mix Mortars, Tile Adhesives, Grouts, Waterproofing Systems, Repair Mortars, Flooring Systems, Non-Shrink Grouts, and Concrete Admixtures, manufacturing excellence, quality systems, technical services, and team leadership while ensuring compliance with international standards. /n /n Key Responsibilities :

Product

Development & Technical Leadership /n /n

- Lead formulation and development of dry-mix and liquid construction chemical products.

/n

- Benchmark products against leading brands and international standards.

/n

- Optimize formulations for performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturing efficiency.

/n

- Drive continuous product improvement based on market and customer feedback.

/n /n 2. Raw Material & Supplier Management /n /n

- Approve and qualify raw materials and suppliers.

/n

- Evaluate local and imported raw material sources.

/n

- Establish technical specifications and quality standards for incoming materials.

/n

- Manage supplier performance and alternate sourcing strategies.

/n /n 3.

Plant

Setup & Manufacturing Operations /n /n

- Lead plant design, installation, commissioning, and production start-up activities.

/n

- Oversee production planning, process efficiency, yield improvement, and cost control.

/n

- Ensure smooth plant operations, maintenance coordination, and inventory management.

/n

- Drive manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

/n /n 4.

Quality

Assurance & R&D; /n /n





- Establish and manage QA/QC and R&D; laboratories.

/n

- Define testing protocols, product specifications, and quality standards.

/n

- Ensure compliance with international construction chemical standards.

/n

- Support product validation, certification, and performance testing.

/n /n 5.

Technical

Service & Customer Support /n /n

- Provide technical guidance to customers, contractors, consultants, and project teams.

/n

- Handle product performance issues and customer complaints.

/n

- Conduct product demonstrations, application trials, and training programs.

/n

- Develop technical datasheets, application guides, and related documentation.

/n /n 6. Team Leadership /n /n

- Build and lead Production, QA/QC, R&D;, Maintenance, and Technical Service teams.

/n

- Develop SOPs, training plans, performance objectives, and succession plans.

/n

- Mentor and develop technical talent within the organization.

/n /n 7. Cost, Compliance & EHS /n /n

- Drive cost optimization through formulation improvements and process efficiencies.

/n

- Monitor product profitability and manufacturing costs.

/n

- Ensure compliance with EHS, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

/n

- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

/n /n /n Desired Candidate :

- /n /n
- B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical, Civil, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.

/n

- 15–25 years of experience, including 12+ years in Construction Chemicals.

/n

- Minimum 5 years in a Plant Head, Technical Head, Manufacturing Head, or similar leadership role.

/n

- Solid experience in Dry-Mix Mortars, Tile Adhesives, Grouts, Waterproofing Systems, Repair Mortars, Flooring Systems, Non-Shrink Grouts, and Concrete Admixtures.
