Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced S1000D Technical Publications Consultant to provide specialist guidance on defence and aerospace documentation projects. The role will focus on S1000D implementation, BREX, SNS, DMC, CSDB, DMRL compliance, and technical publication quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and advise on S1000D implementation for technical documentation projects.
- Develop, review, and validate BREX and customer-specific business rules.
- Design and structure SNS and Data Module Codes (DMC).
- Advise on Data Module types, including procedural, descriptive, IPD, and fault-isolation modules.
- Guide CSDB setup, content management, and S1000D workflows.
- Ensure compliance with DMRL, BREX, customer requirements, and S1000D standards.
- Review technical publications for S1000D conformance, quality, and consistency.
- Provide guidance on applicability, ICN/graphics, Publication Modules, and version/issue management.
- Mentor technical authors and documentation teams on S1000D best practices.




- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve documentation issues.

Required Experience

- 10+ years in technical documentation / technical publications.
- Robust hands-on S1000D experience; candidates must specify years of S1000D experience.
- Proven expertise in BREX, SNS, DMC, CSDB, DMRL, and applicability.
- Experience with S1000D authoring or CSDB tools.
- Defence, aerospace, aviation, naval, or other engineering-domain experience preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Ideal Candidate A hands-on S1000D SME/Consultant capable of establishing documentation structures, reviewing deliverables, solving S1000D implementation issues, and mentoring technical publication teams.
