Key Responsibilities

– Structural Engineer - Mechanical Location: Gadchiroli, Maharashtra

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 8 to 12 Years

Role Purpose

Responsible for supervising and coordinating fabrication, assembly, heavy lifting, and erection of structural steel works for large industrial projects. The role ensures safe execution, quality compliance, contractor management, progress monitoring, and timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise fabrication, assembly, erection, alignment, bolting, welding, and installation of structural steel components.
- Review fabrication drawings, erection schemes, method statements, lifting plans, and technical specifications.
- Ensure readiness of foundations, anchor bolts, materials, manpower, equipment, and lifting resources before execution.
- Monitor structural steel quality, welding activities, dimensional compliance, painting/coating, and inspection requirements.
- Coordinate heavy lifting and erection of columns, trusses, girders, pipe racks, galleries, platforms, hoppers, and equipment support structures.
- Verify alignment, plumbness, bolt tightening, weld quality, and final structural stability.
- Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Piping, Equipment, QA/QC, Safety, and Commissioning teams.
- Monitor contractor productivity, progress, material utilization, and project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards for lifting operations, work at height, hot work, and permit-to-work systems.
- Support measurement verification, project documentation, punch-point closure, and project handover.

Required Experience

- Hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication and erection for Material Handling Plants, Steel Plants, Mining, Cement, Power, or similar heavy industrial projects.
- Knowledge of welding processes, NDT, bolted connections, structural drawings, lifting operations, and erection methodologies.
- Experience in supervising contractors and managing multidisciplinary site teams.
