Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Senior Store Incharge to manage the complete store and inventory operations at our project site. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of materials, ensuring timely receipt and issue of materials, proper storage and preservation, stock reconciliation, and coordination with the Project, Procurement, Accounts and Logistics teams.
Candidates having prior experience in RDSS (Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme), T&D;, electrical distribution, power infrastructure or similar EPC projects will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store & Inventory Management
- Manage day-to-day operations of the project store and ensure smooth material movement.
- Receive materials from vendors and verify quantity, specifications and physical condition against approved documents.
- Ensure proper stacking, identification, preservation and safe storage of materials.
- Maintain minimum/maximum stock levels and highlight shortages or excess inventory.
- Ensure proper issuance of materials against authorized Material Requisition/Issue Slips.
- Maintain separate records for project materials, consumables, tools, equipment and returnable items.
1. Material Documentation
- Prepare and maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Note), Material Receipt Notes, Material Issue Slips, Return Notes and other store-related documents.
- Maintain proper records of inward and outward movement of materials.
- Verify challans, purchase orders, invoices and other supporting documents.
- Maintain complete documentation for audit and project requirements.
- Ensure all store records are updated on a timely basis.
1. Stock Control & Reconciliation
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconciliation with system/book stock.
- Investigate and report discrepancies, shortages, damages or excess stock.
- Prepare periodic stock statements and inventory reports.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving and obsolete materials.
- Ensure proper tagging and identification of materials.
1. Project Material Coordination
- Coordinate with Project Manager, Site Engineers, Procurement, Accounts and Logistics teams for material requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of materials at site as per project execution requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement and vendors for pending deliveries.
- Track material dispatches and deliveries to project locations.
- Ensure materials are issued to the concerned site teams as per approved requirements.
1. RDSS Electrical Project Materials
The candidate should preferably have exposure to handling materials used in RDSS T&D; Power Distribution projects, such as:
- Distribution Transformers
- Poles and Structures
- Conductors and Cables
- AB Cables
- LT/HT Electrical Materials
- Distribution Boxes Panels
- Metering Materials
- Insulators and Hardware
- Earthing Materials
- Electrical Fittings and Accessories
- PPE and Safety Materials
- Tools, Tackles and Consumables
1. ERP Software & Reporting
- Maintain inventory records through ERP Store Management Software Excel.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly store reports.
- Maintain project-wise and item-wise stock records.
- Generate reports related to material receipts, issues, closing stock and consumption.
- Should have valuable knowledge of MS Excel and preferably experience with Tally/ERP systems.
1. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe storage and handling of electrical and other project materials.
- Follow company safety procedures and project-site requirements.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the store area.
- Control unauthorized access to the store.
- Maintain proper records for internal and external audits.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Store & Inventory Management.
- Good understanding of EPC project/site store operations.
- Experience in RDSS T&D; Electrical Infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of GRN, MRN, Material Issue, Material Return and Stock Reconciliation.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and inventory/ERP software.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple materials and project requirements simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accountability.
- Ability to work independently at a project site.
Educational Qualification Minimum: Graduate Diploma in Electrical Preferably
Experience
6 to 10 years of relevant experience in stores/inventory management, preferably in:
- EPC Companies
- Power Distribution Projects
- RDSS Projects
- T&D; Projects
- Electrical Infrastructure Projects
- Construction Infrastructure Projects
Candidates who have already worked on RDSS projects or similar government power distribution projects will be given preference.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of physical vs. book/system stock.
- Timely preparation of GRNs and material documentation.
- Zero/Minimum material discrepancies.
- Timely availability of materials for project execution.
- Proper material preservation and storage.
- Timely submission of stock and consumption reports.
- Reduction in material wastage, loss and damage.
- Audit compliance and documentation accuracy.
Reporting Reports To: Project Manager Project Head
Coordinates With: Procurement, Accounts, Site Engineering, Logistics, Vendors and Corporate Stores/Commercial Team.
Preferred Candidate Profile A candidate with 6+ years of experience in project-site stores, particularly someone who has handled RDSS/T&D; electrical materials, inventory reconciliation, GRN, material issue/receipt, vendor coordination and ERP-based store management, would be ideal for this position.
